McKINNON CHAIN QUALITY

Quality is non-negotiable.All McKinnon Chain products are fully certified to the relevant standards. Our accreditations and certifications bear witness of our manufacturing capabilities and the quality of our product. 

Steel chain has opposing forces at work when it is used. At every compression point, it has tensile stress opposing it. This step in this video is to ensure weld integrity and the correct final chain dimensions.

QUALITY CONTROL & ASSURANCE

  • 100% Proof testing of all heat-treated chains, and components are performed at 2.5 times the working load limit in order to confirm the product integrity.

This video illustrates tensile testing, also known as tension testing. It is a fundamental materials science and engineering test in which a sample is subjected to a controlled tension until failure.

This process is called quenching and tempering. It is used to achieve the desired mechanical properties. All chain is heated to a high temperature and then quenched in water, followed by a tempering process.
